You don't go to school to become a movie criticat least I didn't. It's all been on-the-job training. I love to write, and I've loved movies ever since I was old enough to turn on the TV. My only other qualifications are sheer, stubborn, tenacity and a lifetime spent in the dark. Since launching my career as a professional film critic in 1975, I've probably reviewed close to 3,000 moviesmost of which, let's face it, I can barely remember. But, oh, the memorable ones: Annie Hall; Chinatown; Memento; Cinema Paradiso; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; Toy Story 2; Rivers And Tidesthose are the ones that enrich your life forever!
Here's a sample of some of my recent reviews, and some of my favorites. Check this space for updates.
